Unity Marguerite Whittaker

The owner of Oceanside CWeed is Unity Marguerite Whittaker. She’s been working in cannabis since 2016 and has worked for notable cannabis brands such as BlyssCloud, Village Bloomery, Pistol & Paris, and Khatsalano Kannabis.

During her time at Village Bloomery, this Vancouver favourite cannabis shop transitioned from a dispensary to a regulated retailer. They were recognized by Leafly’s Reader’s Choice Awards for being British Columbia’s favourite cannabis retailer and top 4 of Canada’s best-looking cannabis stores.

Prior to working in cannabis, Unity had a career in retail working for Lululemon, Chapters Indigo, and owning her own gift and home decor boutique in Kitsilano in Vancouver. Unity also worked for established residential and vacation development companies Vidanta and Polygon Homes.

After the passing of her mother from cancer in 2011, Unity wanted to find a career that matched her values for health, wellness, joy, and finding beauty in life.

It was in 2016 when she was invited to be the Creative Director of BlyssCloud, a cannabis media brand with a focus on women who juggled busy careers and kids, this is where Unity was able to connect her values to her professional role.

During her time working in cannabis, Unity has sustained her focus on creating experiences that resonate with women and encouraging diversity in the industry in order to smash the stigma and normalize consumption.

Her message was so popular that in 2019, Unity was nominated as one of Canada’s Social Media Influencers of the Year in the O’Cannabiz Awards.

Below is some of the media that Unity has been featured in.
