Focused on Curating the Best of B.C. Bud

We’ve been working in the cannabis industry for 7 years, working towards the recreational legalization of the plant and working with regulated brands to normalize the safe consumption of weed.

Oceanside CWeed is locally owned and operated and was the first legal cannabis shop in Parksville, BC. We love our cannabis community and we’re focused on bringing a solid selection of cannabis products to our small-town weed shop.

When it comes to dried buds and flowers, we support our legacy farmers that have been growing since before recreational legalization. We offer a selection of buds from all over British Columbia with most of our flowers coming from our Island growers, Kootenays, the lower mainland, and Sea to Sky corridor.

Touring grow facilities and participating in industry events is important for us so we’re current with our knowledge.

Our owner, Unity Marguerite Whittaker, has traveled across Canada and US researching cannabis and the industry. She’s been a speaker at business conferences and featured in the media for her push to diversify the cannabis industry and normalize consumption. Unity has worked for notable cannabis brands, such as BlyssCloud, Village Bloomery, Pistol & Paris, and Khatsahlano Kannabis. She has contributed cannabis content to the Huffington Post, Georgia Straight, The Westender, and The Her(b)Life.

During her time with the Village Bloomery, this Vancouver cannabis store was recognized in Leafly’s Reader’s Choice Awards 2020 for being one of Canada’s best-looking cannabis stores, and as British Columbia’s favourite cannabis retailer.

Unity’s experience prior to cannabis includes working for Lululemon, Chapters Indigo, Vidanta, and Polygon Homes. Unity also owned a home and gift boutique shop in Kitsilano in Vancouver. After her mother passed from cancer in 2011, Unity took time to reassess her values and found her niche when she was invited to be the Creative Director of BlyssCloud in 2016. Unity has been consuming cannabis for 31 years and with BlyssCloud, she was able to connect her love of weed, health & wellness with her love of beautiful accessories.

Currently, Unity is on the board of the Downtown Parksville Business Association with a focus on marketing and solving the parking issues in Parksville!

By supporting our cannabis community and our Parksville community, we believe we can smash the stigma and normalize cannabis consumption.

Pop in for a better daze.
